Civil Rights Heroines and Heroes
Civil Rights Heroes are not confined to the civil rights movement. They are Black Americans that have fought in the ditches of racism for human rights. They are from all walks of life; abolitionists, scientists, educators, entertainers and so on. With so many occupations, backgrounds and beliefs converging, these men all had one thing in common - a better way and life for all Black people.
Heroines of Civil Rights have been awe-inspiring, explosive, and have raised the consciousness of Black America, establishing a sense of ethnic pride. These women have played a major pivotal role in the shaping of our country. They had to overcame many obstacles and difficulties that men did not have. But their vision for a better life of all Black Americans remained at the forefront of their cause.
